National School Transformation Conference-- "If they are happy, they will learn!" NSTC July 2019

This week Dr. Fal and Ms. Bartholomew presented at the National School Transformation Conference in Palm Springs. They were invited to share the story of AVA and specifically about the Bridges Program and how this unique school has  created a culture of support that has positively impacted 40 most disengaged students. During the workshop, participants learned why and how it was set up and received hands-on practice with some of the key features of program that support the relationships between students and adults and has made this program quite successful in its very first year of implementation. Social-Emotional Learning is the cornerstone of student success- if they are happy, they will learn!! The session was packed -with every seat filled. Very affirming to see that this is an area of interest across the nation.
